New Math Dictionary Sections: (1) Estimation & (2) Integers
Upcoming Assessments: Estimation & Integer Quiz (Tues. 9/22); WWU Quiz (Fri. 9/25/09 )
We started the week by talking about the ways you can estimate in problems and how to identify SOL questions that are asking you to estimate. We talked about why you might use estimation in real-life situations (to be a savvier shopper, to plan for events, etc.). We also began talking about Integers: what they are, comparing them, and how to order them.
Integer Life Line Projects were assigned on Thursday, so students could get a head start on putting it together. Check the calendar for "Math: Project" for further details. Projects will be turned in on Monday, September 21, 2009.
