Notes on the U.S. Customary System


Finding the length of something using the U.S. Customary system can be difficult if you have trouble reading the fractions between each inch. The "enlarged" inch to the right should help. Note that not every ruler has sixteenths. You will have to determine how many segments an inch has been divided.


This "Conversion Guide" can help you convert various units to other units within the U.S. Customary system. Note that there are other units not found in this guide. These units are the most commonly used.




The "Big G" can help with converting volume measurements within the U.S. Customary system.
