This week we continued having the student-teacher conferences we started last week regarding their grades and the things they needed to do to bring them up before the end of the term. Again, I tutored students on topics they wanted extra help with and working examples togethe. Students continued working on their make-up work and retakes before continuing on with our second term review materials. The review culminated with the sixth spiral review quiz, which will be counted towards their third term grades along with the homework from this week in order to allow students the opportunity to make-up or redo these assignments for these as needed. Because the grades will be included in the third term grades, they will not be posted to Edline until next week when our system rolls over to the new term.

This week also gave us our first opportunity to go to the computer lab for "fun" review time and the introduction to our new gaming system in class, DimensionM. Some students have been able to play at home on their own, but for many students this was their first chance to play. Needless to say, the students all really loved playing, especially those that were able to compete against many. Sadly (for them) I beat them everytime, but I will offer them a chance for a rematch against me again in the future. I also unofficially started our after school gaming group. Because of limited slots for after school time, I am working on a rotational schedule to allow every student the chance to stay at least once if they so choose. For now, I am giving bus passes (which also serve as their permission slip) on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students must get their bus passes from me in order to stay, since I sign the slip as well to show they have permission to stay after with me and so there is no confusion on which date they can stay.
