I'll be staying after again this Wednesday, December 18. However, unlike the other times I've stayed after with students to provide extra help through tutoring and taking care of making up work, this time it will be to give students some time in the computer lab becoming a bit more familiar with the games for which they've been given accounts. It's extremely hard getting time in the labs during the day, so I've spoken with Dr. Grimes about booking time there after school sometimes. She loved the idea, so this week we'll try it out and see how things go. Students will be able to work on any of their Edmodo assignments at that time as well as playing the games, so there will be plenty to do.
If there are any students who would like to participate, you need to make arrangements with me ahead of time. Students should see me in class before Wednesday to make their request and then ask their parents/guardians to write a note or email giving them permission to stay after. I need to have a list of students ahead of time to ensure that the number staying after doesn't get to out of hand and to make sure I have each student's login information ready for the games. Students will need to be picked up no later than 4:15 PM or they will not be allowed to stay after again in the future. Students do not have to stay the entire time if it doesn't work for family schedules, but I wanted to make the extra time available for those who need or want it.
